Mid-Week Eval

It's sunday and I am stalling. I have a pile of school work to do but I am avoiding starting and it's almost 9pm so basically I wasn't very productive today. Thus far I am doing well with nutrition and exercise. I am hoping to lose 4 lbs this week. I have worked with the trainer 5x thus far and I have been 90% on the program. I went to a b-day cookout lastnight. I brought with me a salad to eat but I did have some mac and cheese but I didn't eat my NS entree. Tomorrow is my last day at the clinic the semester is winding down. My students have their final on Aug 4 and I have one final on Weds and one on Friday and school will be officially over for me. I am planning some type of vacay before school starts back and I start my new job. I didn't weigh in this morning. I plan to wait until Tuesday when I meet with the trainer. If I lose at least 2 lbs I will have lost 10 lbAfs in 3 WEEKS!! My goal is 12lbs maybe I should do some cardio tonite....After this week I will up date my measurements. I have a lot to prove to myself... I CAN AND WILL DO THIS!!!

Weekly Wednesday Weigh-in

I'm on my way out the door but I had to post my weight for this past week. I am down -3lbs. Total of 8lbs in 2 WEEKS YAY! I am very excited to see that because I had to modify a few times last week. Next week my goal is 4lbs. I know that sounds ambitious but I am going to at least try. I want to lose at total of 15lbs in 4 weeks. Let's see if I can do it. I gotta head out. Week 3 starts today.

My official weigh in is tomorrow. But of course I weighed myself this morning and I am happy with the results. I was worried this past week was rough with all the events that we going on all at the same time I will post them tomorrow according to both the gym and home scale. Weight loss is hard. I have enjoyed NS thus far. I am quickly approaching week 3. I can't believe how fast time goes by. It's almost time for me to call and make some changes for my autodelivery. As of now I am going to stay on NS 2 more months for total of 3 mths. During mth 3 I plan to do the flex plan where you only get 5 days/week worth of food and you prepare your own 2x/ week. The one drawback to NS is the cost. Just ordering the food is not bad at all but these weekly grocery store visits for fruit/veggies and other misc things can get costly. I am pondering going to mu local farmer's market to see if the prices are better than the grocery store. I have spend $150 or so in the last 2 weeks in addition to the NS foods. That adds up quickly. I also know how much I was spending eating unhealthy and this is gravely more important to me. Today is my students last lecture exam. The final is next the first week of august but I least I will be off for awhile after this week ends. I am also contemplating starting Zumba my PT is an instructor, I may give it a try once I finally get some free time.

making time

i am one of those people who do so much and never really make time for myself. so i have decided that i gave to start back making time for me and pampering myself. the only thing that i do for myself on a consistently is get hair hair done weekly. but for the last 3 weeks i haven't even being doing that. so yesterday after my training session. i went and got a pedicure and sadly to say i had to rush out of there because i had to go to a funeral yesterday. so i couldn't even enjoy that like i wanted to. so today i decided that i would go get a massage. at least once a week i am going to do something for myself besides getting my hair done.

Mid-Week Eval

This week has been a little rough for me. I have tried to make the best decisions nutritionally. What I have learned this week is about planning. I plan to purchase a little cooler that I can store in my car with fruits/veggies, water and if necessary NS meal. I am constantly on the go with either my business, school, work. I feel like every minute in my life is accounted for. It gets rough doing all this. I am on like the last real week of both schools the one I attend and work. So that is great!! For this week I decided to make meal planner for the week. My weigh in day is on Weds and I did a mid week weigh in and I have not lost any weight thus far this week and that sucks. I was aiming for at least 3lbs but doesn't look like I'm going to make it. Which is disappointing considering. I have only worked out with my trainer 2x thus far for this weigh in week. I plan to get on my treadmill today or my husband and I will go walking this evening.

planning...

Today is my grandmother's sister funeral and I am trying to plan my meals accordingly. Having entrees available are great but trying to add all the veggies on such on the go can be daunting. I am currently working ono the meal plan for today. I am supposed to be reviewing NS food with this blog so let me do so. Yesterday,for breakfast I ate multrigrain cereal, fresh strawberries, and yogurt I made a prafait. It was delicious. Lunch-red beans and chicken sausage. Honestly, when I opened the package I thought the smell was awful but I followed the instructions and added some shrimp, and 2/3 cups of peas and carrots, very filling. Dinner- italian flatbread pizza I added turkey pepperoni, onions and shredded FF cheddar cheese. I didn't eat the veggies servings because I was exhausted. I also enjoyed a NS fudge brownie for dessert. After officially being on NS for a week and half, I can honestly say that I like the food there are like 1 million reciepes out there which makes you want to order more to try all the different options. I plan to monitor my results for this morning and stay on NS through our anniversary. I will order the flex plan on the 3rd months so that I can start making my own meals according to the guidelines. I am not going to get back on the scale until next Tuesday with the trainer. I have an training appt today and I am going for an pedi and massage tomorrow. My trainer is a licensed massage therapist as well. AWESOME!

flexing...

Yesterday was tough. I had a million things to do and I was running my tail off. I had to flex for lunch and dinner. So for lunch I had a SW grilled chicken salad w/ FF dressing from Chickfila it was the healthiest decision I could make at the time. I thought I was going to be able to go home and make my NS lunch but I would have been late for work so I took the plunge. I counted it as my lunch veggie and protein serving and I had half a banana for fruit serving. The only thing that was missing was the lunch entree. For midafternoon snack I had some cantelope and water I saved the protein for dinner. So when I finally made it home I ate the NS lunch chicken noodle soup and my carb was 2 slcs of 40 cal whole wheat bread. Then we had to go to my dad's bday dinner. I ordered grilled shrimp, steamed broccoli, side salad and 1/2 c. jasmine rice (which was not the best choice). For dessert NS chocolate pound cake at home. For my first time eating out since starting last Weds I don't think I did too bad.

Week 1 Weign in

I got on my home digital scale this morning and it was 311.0 and yesterday it was 311.0. The gym scale reads 310 so either way I am happy. I met my goal for the week. I am going to use the gym scale as my home scale may not be as accurate. There is a one lb difference and that matters to me. I am actually getting used to NS. For me the key is having the alotted fruits and veggies. I use the veggies to bulk up the entrees. Yesterday I ate a chocolate muffin breakfast before my workout, post-workout smoothie that were I used my fruit and protein breakfast serving. For lunch I was at work so I had the chicken tortilla soup, I added some brown rice and SW corn. Dinner was great I tried the chicken penne w/ alfredo I added more chicken (<100cals )for my protein serving and a large salad for the veggies. For dessert a chocolate fudge bar. This morning I plan on making pancakes with blueberries.Hmmm. It's true that the portion sizes are small but all I do is bulk them up with veggies. I LOVE broccoli and its a free food so you can have as much as you like. Once I add in the extras I fill full and satisified at least for now.

I have a few big obstacles headed my way. My grandmother's last living sibling passed away on Monday afternoon. RIP Bernice. So that means lots of food around. But I plan on bringing my own snacks and entrees, my dad's birthday is tomorrow so we have to go to dinner this will be my first time eating out since being on NS. I have a big project today and that also has me worried. Pre-planning is the way to success and I am going to be successful.

My goal for next week is 3-5lbs. I want 5 but will be happy with 3!

i cheated....

not on the diet but with my trainer. he wanted to weigh me today because i don't meet with him tomorrow. today is day 7 on NS. i am currently 310lbs (according to the gym sliding scale) that makes -5lbs in 1 week. my official weigh- in is tomorrow morning. i am very proud and excited about my weight loss for last week. i plan to keep up the hard work. school is uber stressful right now i have a huge assignment to do tomorrow and i am nervous about it. i know this sound ambitous but i am shooting for 5 lbs next week as well. i am going to try to do my best and loss this weight once and for all.

Short Term Goals:
10.08.11- Lose 25-30lbs
01.26.12- lose 50lbs

Long-Term Goal
07.13.12 - Lose 100lbs

Day 5

Today is day 5 and I got on the scale this morning to check my weight. Wednesday will be my official weigh in day but I just had to sneak and see where I am currently. I have lost 2.8 lbs and I am uber EXCITED! I still have 3 more days including today until my first weigh-in. I plan on doing some cardio sometime today! NS works!!! I am still have hungry pains between midafternoon snak and dinner. I plan to go on the NS Community page and look for suggestions for food selections. Thus far I'm happy. I have something to prove to myself this week.

Day 2 Review

Yesterday was Day 2. I had to work so I planned according I brought my snacks and lunch with me. For breakfast I had a blueberry muffin and bottle of water and dashed out the door because I was running late for my personal training appt. After my workout I enjoyed a smoothie {1 yoplait yogurt cup, 1/2 frozen mixed berries, 1/3 c of vfusion light} that completed my breakfast. I divided my lunch so that I could have a snack before lunch. So I ate a banana for snack and 2 hours later I tried the black beans and rice entree with carrots and yogurt. I have black bean soup so I enjoyed the meal. I had apples and 1tbsp of LF pnut butter for mid afternoon snack. For dinner I was hungry I notice that once I get home and relaxed in the evenings is when I get hungry so I drink a lot of water so that I don't overeat. So far that has helped me. For dinner I tired the veggie lasagna w/ basil tomato, salad, and 1/2 c frozen peas and carrots. I cooked the lasagna according to the directions and cut it in half and placed half in a bowl, put the mixed veggies between to 2 halves and put a small a sprinkle of FF mozzarella cheese on top. It was very filling and hearty. For dessert I tried the golden pound cake and it was superb! Moist and sweet. So far so good. The only problem that I see is I have to tame that early evening hungry. The food that that I have experienced thus far as been filling and tasty.

I really believe that this will work for me. 4lbs is my goal for this week! Pics coming soon.

Day 1: COMPLETE

So yesterday was my first full day on NS. The food is better than I expected considering it comes out of boxes and containers. I ordered the NS women's basic plan not the Select. The select comes with frozen foods as well as the dry foods. Thus far all the meals are simple to make you just add water and put in the the microwave or add boiling water from stove top. Yesterday I only had hunger pains after my afternoon snack. Today I will try something more filling. What I like the most is that you can add to the NS entrees. For example for breakfast I had the Cinnanmon Swirl Granola bar I was in a rush grabbed in and headed to the gym to meet my trainer, for my postwork out I had a yogurt smoothie made from yogurt, 1/2 c frozen fruit, and 1/2 c light vfusion jucie put in the the blender. The bar and smoothie were all included in breakfast. For Lunch I tried the Pasta Parmesan with Broccoli. This dish had low reviews on the NS website but I ordered it anyway and added some steamed broccoli, 1tbsp of parmesan cheese and some spices. It was creamy and filling. I would rate is 3.5 of of 5. I had to go the clinical yesterday so I had lunch around 12:30 and was at the clinic until 5:30 so by the time I got home I was hungry it was time for my afternoon snack. I had 1 granny smith apple and 1tbsp of reduced fat pnut butter. For dinner I wanted something that would be filling so I tried the Chicken and Dumplings it was delicious. I added 1/2c frozen peas and carrots, 1/2 c lima beans and viola it was very filing. I didn't get my fruit serving for dinner last night and for desert I enjoyed the fudge brownie. So far so good. I know it's early in the game but I have to think and remain positive. My personal goal for this week is 2lbs but I am striving for 4lbs!

Yesterday's workout was hard. My trainer is pushing me which is a great but I know that I can do more. So I have to push even harder. I really want to succeed and I know that I can and will. I have decided that I am going to do a mid-week weigh in sunday morning just see if I am progressing. Stay tuned

getting started...

so i was supposed to go grocery shopping after work so i didn't make it. so i woke up early this morning and i am only going to get a week worth of items to see if i need to make modifications as i go through this plan. here is my eating plan:

ITS HERE.....

my box of NS came in and I am happy and nervous all at the same time. I really want this to work for me!!! I am a newlywed as you know and we are looking forward to possibly getting pregnant next year! There were lots of foods in the box and if you don't know they color code everything for breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner. I do not even have enough cabinet space available to put everything. I am starting tomorrow but I have to go grocery shopping first. Essentially, NS sends you all your entree's and you buy your own fruits, veggies, bread, etc. At first, I thought all you get to eat was what they sent you. So I was excited to see that I can still eat a yogurt for breakast in the morning.

I'm BACK!

I was going to start a new blog but I decided to just continue blogging here. I started something and I am back to finish it. I have hired a trainer and I ordered Nutrisystem. I have been working with my trainer James for about two months and I am feeling good about working out but I have not been following a healthy diet so basically negating all of the workouts.... So I tried to find a personal chef in my area and failed so I read some reviews and debated b/w Nurtisystem and Jenny Craig and decided on NS!! I ordered on 07.06.11 and I recieved it today. I plan to start tomorrow morning. I will post my starting weight and measurement tomorrow!!!
